WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate (WX) is pleased to announce that it will host its 2017 Woman of the Year Gala on Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm at The Pierre, located at 2 East 61st Street in New York City. The gala will honor Brookfield Property Partners (Brookfield) Executive Vice President, Asset Management Sara Queen, for her accomplishments as a leader in real estate and her contributions to WX.
WX is excited to announce the WX Scholars Program recipients for the 2016-2017 program year. This year, the WX Charitable Fund is making a total of 23 awards, comprising seven merit awards and 16 financial scholarships, totaling $124,500. The WX Scholars Program encourages and supports bright and talented young women pursuing challenging careers in real estate and related professions in the New York metropolitan area. The awards, which are based on merit and financial need, are given to women graduating from undergraduate or graduate degree programs and entering the real estate industry in New York City. Among the many benefits of the program, the Scholars are invited to participate in the WX Mentoring Program for two years, which provides educational programming and networking opportunities to the women as they launch their careers. Since the program was launched in 2004, scholarships have been awarded to over 200 women at 14 schools, totaling approximately $1 million dollars.
The WX New York Women Executives in Real Estate (WX) monthly breakfast meeting, held on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at The Harvard Club in New York City, featured an expert panel focused on the exciting revitalization happening at Pier 57 in New York. The panel included Michael Rem, Project Manager, RXR Realty, Noreen Doyle, Executive Vice President, Hudson River Park Trust and Giuliana Benedicty, Project Manager, Hunter Roberts Construction Group. The WX monthly Breakfast Series meetings offer a wide range of topics and speakers of interest to the commercial real estate community, and are open to WX Members, their guests, and WX Scholars.
The Cornell community warmly welcomed five accomplished female leaders in the real estate industry for the annual WX: New York Women Executives in Real Estate Panel Discussion on Thursday evening, hosted by the Center for Real Estate Finance. Members of Cornell Real Estate Women (CREW) assisted in hosting the panelists throughout the day’s activities. A mix of undergraduate and graduate students in real estate, hotel administration, architecture, business, and city planning filled the audience for the panel. Afterward, everyone spilled out into the Statler Park Atrium for a networking reception.
